Privacy Policy

Holy Roam LLC (“Holy Roam,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Holy Roam mobile application and the website at holyroamllc.com (together, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This policy is a draft prepared to reflect the Service as currently built. We recommend having it reviewed by an attorney before publishing, particularly given the sensitive categories of data described below.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a username you choose. If you sign in with a third-party provider, we receive the information that provider shares with us (typically your name and email).

Location Data

To show you nearby parishes, the Service requests access to your device’s location. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; the Service will still function using a manually entered city or ZIP code instead.

Content You Create

The Service lets you create and store deeply personal information, which you control and which is private by default unless you explicitly choose to share it:

Mass and Confession attendance logs — dates and, optionally, which parish you attended
Journal entries — reflections on Mass and homilies, which you may optionally mark as public on your profile
Sacraments record — baptism year and parish, confirmation saint, year, and parish
Prayer intentions and prayer boards — text you or invited members add to a board
Parish reviews — ratings, tags, and comments you submit about a parish
Photos — a profile photo you choose to upload

We treat this information as sensitive. It is never used for advertising targeting, and access to it is restricted to features you explicitly enable (for example, sharing a journal entry publicly, or inviting someone to a prayer board).

Social/Friend Information

If you use the friending feature, we store your friend connections (who you’re connected to, pending requests) and any content you’ve chosen to share with friends specifically, per the visibility settings you control in your profile.

Information from Third Parties

Parish location, contact information, and photos may be sourced from public parish websites, the Archdiocese of Denver’s parish locator, or the Google Places API. Where we display Google ratings or reviews, that content is provided by Google and subject to Google’s own terms, with attribution shown as required.

Usage Information

We may collect aggregate, non-identifying information about how the Service is used — for example, how many times a parish’s listing was viewed or a “Get Directions” link was tapped — to provide parishes with usage summaries. This aggregate data is never tied to an individual user’s identity.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

Show you nearby parishes, Mass times, and confession times
Let you maintain a private spiritual journal, attendance log, and confession log
Let you connect with friends and, if you choose, share journal entries, prayer intentions, or stats with them
Let parish staff claim and maintain their own parish’s listing
Provide aggregate usage summaries to parishes that have claimed their listing
Respond to support requests sent to info@holyroamllc.com
Maintain the security and integrity of the Service, including reviewing reported content

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your journal, confession log, or sacraments data for advertising.

3. Who Can See Your Information

Private by default: Journal entries, confession logs, attendance logs, sacraments records, and prayer intentions are visible only to you, unless you take an explicit action to share them (e.g., toggling a journal entry public, inviting someone to a prayer board).
Friends: Content you mark as visible to friends is shown only to users you’ve accepted as friends, per your profile privacy settings.
Parish reviews: Reviews you submit are public and associated with your username.
Parish staff: If you contact a claimed parish through the Service, or if aggregate usage data is shown to that parish, no individually identifying information about you is disclosed to parish staff.

4. Data Storage and Security

Data is stored using Supabase, a third-party database and backend service. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including access controls, to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Choices and Rights

Access and correction: You can view and edit most of your information directly in the app (profile, sacraments, journal, etc.).
Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from the Account tab. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Location: You can deny or revoke location access at any time in your device settings.
Sharing controls: You can change what’s visible to friends or the public at any time in your privacy settings.

6. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at info@holyroamllc.com so we can delete it.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy practices:

Supabase (data storage and authentication)
Google Places API (parish ratings, reviews, and photos where displayed)
Apple/Google Maps (directions)

We encourage you to review these providers’ own privacy policies.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users through the app or by posting a notice on this page with an updated effective date.
